Battelle has announced its participation in US Special Operations Command’s (USSOCOM) request for proposal (RfP) for non-standard commercial vehicles (NSCVs).
The company’s NSCVs come with a range of optional features, including over-cab and rear-quarter gun mounts, left or right-hand drive, gasoline or diesel engines, and automatic or manual transmissions.
Re-engineered with 360-degree crew protection, Battelle’s vehicles feature enhanced suspension for improved off-road mobility. They also have a reinforced, durable chassis designed to function in rugged conditions.
Battelle programme manager Jim LaBine said: "We pay close attention to feedback from operators to support our vehicles in the field, and to refine our designs."
The company’s vehicles undergo formal durability and system-level armour testing. They retain the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) appearance.
Battelle has delivered nearly 300 commercial-style armoured vehicles to the US Army under previous contracts.
