The US Army Contracting Command has awarded a $270m contract to BAE Systems for the purchase of material items to upgrade Bradley Operation Desert Storm Situational Awareness (ODS-SA) vehicles.
Under the contract, the company will use the items to upgrade 245 Bradley vehicles with updated technological enhancements for improved situational awareness capability.

The Bradley ODS-SA vehicle features advanced digitised electronics for situational awareness, network connectivity and communication to meet a variety of mission requirements.
The vehicle is used by the US Army’s Heavy Brigade Combat Teams in infantry fighting, cavalry fighting, fire support, command and engineer squad missions.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Pennsylvania and at the Red River Army Depot in Texas, US, and is expected to be completed in April 2014 if all options are exercised.
