The Finnish Government plans to allocate a basic stipend of $3.24bn and a top-up allowance of $418m to cover one-off additional costs for the Finnish armed forces (FAF) in 2011.
The 2011 budget, if approved, will finance new and existing procurement programmes, including buying of armoured vehicles and air-defence systems.

The Finnish Army will also buy wheeled and all-terrain vehicles to meet the logistical problem of providing suitable AMVs for crisis-management operations.
The budget allocation also includes $80m to replace the border guard’s twin-engine helicopter fleet by 2014.
The ministry expects to spend an estimated $3.25bn plus a $393m top-up in 2012, and $2.99bn plus $408m in 2013.
