Concurrent Technologies will develop new ground robotic systems to help take the pressure off ground battlefield forces under a $46m contract.
Under the contract, the company will conduct research and development of ground robotic systems, and ancillary subsystems and software to provide an improved collection of tools for the US Department of Defence.
Research and development will be carried out on several aspects of ground robotics, including the improvement and development of unmanned robotic vehicle systems.
The robotic vehicles can be operated remotely, therefore minimising the threat to the warfighter in high-risk environments.
The five-year contract has been awarded by the Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane division in Indiana, US.
