The Australian Army has conducted a combined live firing exercise codenamed Exercise Chong Ju (EXCJ) at the Puckapunyal Military Area (PMA) in Victoria.
During the exercise, the Australian Army demonstrated its latest combat weapons and performed a live firing drill with armoured vehicles and weapons.

Defence capabilities included in the live fire demonstration are the army’s M1A1 Abrams tank, Australian light armoured vehicle, M113 AS4, 105mm Hamel Gun and Javelin anti-armour missile.
The Australian Air Force provided close air support with its F-111 long-range strike aircraft, which will be decommissioned shortly.
The exercise enabled newly joined soldiers to visualise the effects of modern weapon systems during a combined arms attack.
