The Jordanian Armed Forces have awarded a contract to SELEX Galileo to develop indigenous UAV technologies and electro-optic sensors for Jordan special operations forces.
Under the contract, SELEX Galileo will work in collaboration with the King Abdullah Design and Development Bureau (KADDB) to develop advanced capabilities based on the company’s tactical unmanned aerial system (TUAS) Falco.
Falco is a long-endurance, multiple payload capable UAV designed for border surveillance, border patrol, pipeline surveillance and homeland security missions.
Research, design and development work will begin early in 2010 at the KADDB facilities in Amman.
