The Kingdom of Jordan has awarded a $18m contract to US-based Cubic Defense Applications to supply a mobile combat training centre for the Jordanian armed forces.
Under the contract, the company will provide combat training systems, instrumentation and support services as well as operations and maintenance services for the centre.
The new battalion-sized centre will feature Windows-based exercise control (EXCON) component, 2D and 3D tactical communications, and dynamic after-action review capabilities.
The centre will also feature the company’s MILES individual weapon system which provides GPS-based real-time position location for dismounted soldiers and vehicles as well as simulated weapons performance as part of the contract.
The contract has been given through a foreign military sales programme led by the US Army Program Executive Office for training, simulation and instrumentation.
The centre is scheduled to be delivered in 2010.
