The Colombian Army will receive multimission imaging solutions from thermal imaging camera systems manufacturer FLIR Systems under a $4.9m foreign military sale of the United States.
As per the contract the company will provide the army with Star SAFIRE III infrared multisensor surveillance systems, training and related services.
Star SAFIRE III is a multimission imaging solution for land and air applications, which include search and rescue, reconnaissance, target identification, unmanned aerial vehicles and force protection.
The systems will be delivered to the rotary wing surveillance and tactical platforms, which support airborne day and night anti-narcotic and anti-insurgency missions.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facility in Wilsonville, Oregon, and is expected to be complete by 2010.
