Oshkosh Defense has developed a new special operations vehicle (SOV) with high adaptability, speed and an advanced armour system ideal for rapid-response forces in remote locations.
The highly mobile SOV, the latest entrant into the SandCat family with a high-performance and secure platform, will be unveiled at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics 2009 event, June 24–25 at the Millbrook proving ground in Bedfordshire, UK.
Based on commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components, SandCat SOV is easy to maintain and repair, has adjustable survivability features to meet the payload needs and threat levels of different missions.
SandCat vehicles feature a modular and replaceable armour system, a 325hp engine, a maximum speed greater than 120km/h and excellent manoeuvrability.
The vehicles have a high-energy-absorbing belly deflector, ballistic steel roof, collapsible seat base and suspended seats.
