Rheinmetall Defence’s Simulation and Training division is to assume responsibility for running Germany’s advanced combat training centre, the GÜZ, in September.
The €100m deal is expected to last for six years and was signed on 29 May at the Berlin Air Show ILA.
Rheinmetall hopes to develop GÜZ’s existing capabilities, enabling full integration of new mission requirements, such as joint and multinational operations.
Rheinmetall says it will bring into play the newly extended version of its ‘Future Soldier’ programme, which trains soldiers to fight in an urban environment.
