The Israeli Defence Ministry has signed a contract to provide the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) combat battalions with additional Keshet mortar systems.
The $40m contract is aimed at providing IDF with improved precision fire capabilities that include increased speed and accuracy of mortar fire.
The Keshet system combines 120mm mortars with advanced control, navigation and aiming systems and can move autonomously.
The system was first acquired by the IDF in 2007.
