Rapiscan, a division of OSI Systems Security, has been awarded a three-year $248m indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract by the US Army for entry control point non-intrusive inspection systems.
Under the contract, the army may purchase multiple products and services, including Rapiscan’s eagle cargo and vehicle inspection products and Rapiscan’s Secure 1000 personnel screening solution.
The contract is part of the US Army Joint Program Office for Chemical and Biological Defense, Force Protection Systems.
The eagle cargo and vehicle inspection product line provides comprehensive and efficient detection of contraband, weapons, narcotics and other potential threats in a wide range of containers and vehicles.
The Secure 1000 personnel screening system has been designed to help screeners detect potential threat objects hidden on passengers.
Rapiscan, the prime contractor, is one of seven awardees for the contract to help fulfil the US Army global force protection requirements.
