Oshkosh Corporation has been awarded a firm-fixed-price contract by the US Army TACOM LCMC for the procurement of mine-resistant ambush-protected all-terrain vehicles (MRAP-ATV).
Under the $97.1m award, the company will provide 177 MRAP-ATVs installed with underbody improvements kits to the US Army.
The Oshkosh MRAP-ATV is a high-mobility, high-protection medium tactical vehicle derived from the medium tactical vehicle replacement (MTVR) platform.
The M-ATV incorporates the TAK-4 independent suspension system to provide proven mobility and a battle-proven armour configuration to protect the crew and to manoeuvre in the most difficult terrain.
Work will be carried out at the company’s facilities in Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, US, with an estimated completion date of 31 January 2012.
