Raytheon has been awarded a $58.3m contract by the US Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) to upgrade Patriot guidance-enhanced missile-tactical (GEM-T) missiles.
The $58.3m follow-on contract is to upgrade 131 Patriot advanced capability-2 missiles to the GEM-T configuration.
The Patriot GEM-T missile upgrade includes the replacement of components that increase reliability and extend the service life of the missile.
Work will be performed at the company’s integrated air defence (IDS) centre in Massachusetts, US.
Raytheon IDS is the prime contractor for both domestic and international Patriot air and missile defence systems.
