GM-General Dynamics Land Systems has been awarded a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract to provide support for US Army Stryker vehicles.
Under the $18.7m contract, the company will provide support for 19 Stryker flat-bottom vehicles and 15 Stryker double-V-hull vehicles.
The Stryker is an eight-wheeled combat vehicle that is lighter, smaller and more readily deployable for defence and disaster-response missions.
The double-V hull increases soldier survivability by providing high-magnitude blast protection.
Work will be performed at the company’s facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan, US, with an estimated completion date of 29 February 2012.
The US Army TACOM LCMC will be the contracting activity.
