Azerbaijan will produce new armoured combat vehicles this year, based on the framework of the army’s T-55 tank.
According to military sources, Azerbaijan is in negotiations with Israel Military Industries and two Turkish companies for creation of samples of different types of equipment.

The first stage of the project includes a tracked towing vehicle, highly manoeuvrable combat vehicle, mechanised bridge and mine sweeper.
The different samples will then be tested to decide on which equipment to be mass produced, according to News.Az.
The Azerbaijani Army’s T-55 tanks are currently not in service and are kept at the Gobu tank range.
