The Israeli Defence Forces School for Infantry Corps Professions and Squad Commanders is using a new simulator for Gil anti-tank missiles.
The new upgraded system features improved graphics, showing infrastructures on the field in precise detail, and a new night-time function, allowing day and nighttime training.
The simulator depicts detailed graphics of enemy territories such as Syria and Lebanon to familiarise soldiers with the territories, according to IDF.il.
The system also allows the the training commander to use a special MP4 media player, to follow soldiers’ movements and decisions and to check on weak points.
Gil missile department deputy head Lieutenant Yonatan Shoshani said the unique MP4 allowed the commanders to throw obstacles at points when the gunner was least alert.
“We can learn morals from this. It’s also possible to record the drill and analyse it later,” he said.
