US Army Alaska (USARAK) and the Indian Army’s annual joint and bilateral training exercise, Yudh Abhyas, is now underway.
The 14-day exercise, which began on 31 October, intends to establish and enhance relationships between the allied forces with a focus on peacekeeping operations.

The exercise will include a command post exercise, airborne operations training, marksmanship and tactical training by a Javelin live-fire.
US Army Alaska Deputy Commander Colonel Mark S Lowe said the exercise allows participants to train together whilst sharing tactics, techniques and procedures.
Soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team (airborne), 25th Infantry Division, 79th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (national guard) and Indian Army soldiers from 62nd Infantry and 5th Parachute Regiment Brigade, are the active participants in the exercise.
