Lockheed Martin, one of the largest defence contractors, has unveiled plans to continue its hiring process amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
While announcing its Covid-19 response, the company noted that it will continue with planned recruitment and hiring processes by utilising virtual technology and other techniques.
Lockheed Martin will also offer its corporate aircraft and vehicles to support Covid-19 relief initiatives and medical supplies, as well as technical support to address key challenges faced by authorities.
Additionally, the company will open its facilities for critical medical supply storage, distribution and Covid-19 testing.

“First, we will continue to protect the health and safety of our men and women on the job and their families. Second, we will continue to perform and deliver for our customers because what they do for our national security, global communications, and infrastructure is critical to our nation and our allies.
“Third, we will do our part to use our know-how, resources, and leadership as a company to assist our communities and our country during this period of national crisis.”
The company further noted that it will provide more than $50m to support small and medium-sized business partners. It has also opened a $6.5m employee disaster relief fund to support employees and retirees affected by the disease.
Meanwhile, the number of Covid-19 cases in the US surged to 143,000.
