Kratos Defense & Security Solutions’ wholly owned subsidiary Micro Systems has secured a contract to support the US Army ground aerial unmanned autonomous systems (UAS) / unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) command and target control systems.
The contract includes a $60.7m base and has two options worth approximately $25.3m. The cumulative face value of the contract stands at around $85.95m.
The company will support the US Army’s ground-based infrastructure, which includes software updating, cybersecurity inspections and installation of replacement parts.
Kratos unmanned systems division president Steve Fendley said: “We are incredibly excited about this substantial win for the unmanned systems and for Kratos overall.
“This enables us to evolve, develop, and apply new technologies to the UAS / UGV command and control systems for the army, which support development, testing, and training associated with our country’s defensive systems and military personnel.
“Our ground-based infrastructure capability, the foundation for this contract, is key to our overall unmanned vehicle strategy to design, develop, and produce the entire system.
