Galvion has revealed the receipt of orders for its Baltskin helmet systems from customers in the Middle East region at the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) exhibition taking place in United Arab Emirates’ capital, Abu Dhabi, from 17 to 21 February 2025.
The orders are for a total of 35,000 head systems, comprising two models from Galvion’s helmet range: the VIPER and PDxT.
Specific details regarding the customers and the orders have not been revealed by the company.
The VIPER A1 Special Edition is an aramid helmet designed in coyote brown with a custom camouflage cover and a helmet bag for a regional client.
The PDxT variant, known commercially as the Batlskin Hellbender, provides a battle-tested performance and is used in various international helmet programmes.
These helmets feature an ACH-front, smooth ear transitions, and a ridged back that enhances structural integrity, ballistic protection at the rear, and impact resistance.
Both helmet systems ordered include Galvion’s Modular Suspension System (MSS), which ensures comfort, stability, and protection for extended wear.
Galvion Strategic Markets vice-president Alex Hooper said: “We’re excited to be able to make this announcement at IDEX, where we are exhibiting the full breadth of our capabilities. This includes our portfolio of head systems, as well as our expanded Nerv Centr power and data management solutions, which are ideally suited to remote and austere environments with low power availability.
“We see a significant opportunity for military clients in the region to benefit from our advanced, integrated soldier systems, and we look forward to further supporting our allied Armed Forces across the Middle East.”
The company has fulfilled large orders in the region, with an unnamed partner having placed orders for more than 100,000 helmets over the past ten years for Armed Forces and security services.
This announcement follows Galvion’s showcase of new additions to their head systems portfolio at the SHOT show 2025 in January.
This included the Batlskin Hellbender Tactical Edition and the Batlskin Caiman Search and Rescue helmets.
In 2024, the Department of National Defence Canada placed orders with the company for its Batlskin Caiman ballistic helmet systems. The total Canadian Dismounted Infantry Capability Enhancement order has reached 10,500 helmets.
