The US Army Project Manager (PM) Tactical Network has awarded new orders to Comtech Telecommunications for the delivery of Manpack Satellite Terminals and networking equipment.
With a total value of $32.5m, the orders were awarded during the company’s fourth quarter of fiscal year 2018.
Comtech’s Command & Control Technologies group, which is a part of the company’s Government Solutions segment, will execute the order.
Comtech Telecommunications president and chief executive officer Fred Kornberg said: “We are pleased that we have the opportunity to provide this mission essential equipment to our customer.
“We understand the critical importance of these Army units and our team is poised to execute these orders to support the rapid fielding.
“These orders, through the Global Tactical Advanced Communication Systems (GTACS) contract, reinforce our partnership in supporting our warfighters.”
Last month, the company received orders totalling $10.6m to provide Manpack Satellite Terminals and networking equipment to the Defense Logistics Agency SATCOM Program Office and Headquarters United States Marine Corps.
The US Army PM Tactical Network provides an expeditionary, modular ‘tool kit’ of unified satellite and radio network transport capabilities.
It continues to improve the army’s tactical network, enhancing the way the network is managed, operated and defended.
Comtech’s Command & Control Technologies group is a major provider of mission-critical, highly mobile command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) solutions.
