The UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) has confirmed orders with defence and security technology products and services provider Chemring Group for the next two years.

With a total value of approximately £23m, all the contracts have been awarded to the company’s UK-based subsidiaries.

Under the agreements, Chemring subsidiaries will supply the British Armed Forces with countermeasures worth £11m, £8m of pyrotechnic products, and a range of demolition stores valued at £4m.

“The trusted position that Chemring holds with its key domestic customer and the mission-critical nature of our products in protecting the lives of our armed forces.”

Chemring group chief executive Michael Flowers said: “We are delighted to receive these awards in support of the UK MoD, which further underpin our plans for Fiscal Year 2018 (FY18) and help to build order coverage for FY19.

“As the UK MoD seeks to provide the armed forces with the highest level of protection, receipt of these contracts is testament to both the trusted position that Chemring holds with its key domestic customer and the mission-critical nature of our products in protecting the lives of our armed forces.

“We look forward to continuing to deliver the highest performing and highest quality products in support of our customers.”

Deliveries under the contracts will be carried out during the UK MoD’s financial year commencing from this month to April next year.

Chemring focuses on the design, development and production of advanced expendable countermeasures for protecting air, sea and land platforms.

The company also provides new production and surplus inventory of several pyrotechnic devices in both US-standard and non-standard configurations, in addition to supplying the MoD with a full range of explosive products.
