The CH2M and Merrick joint venture (JV) are to work with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to provide design services for the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) ballistic missile defence programme.
Under the contract, CH2M will deliver services related to pre-design engineering studies and design of tactical and tactical support facilities for missile defence weapons systems.
Design-related analyses and studies, economic analyses and cost estimates for the missile launch, test, and evaluation will also be undertaken, as well as other related services.
CH2M is the majority partner in the JV, and will also prepare documentation to seek environmental permits from regulatory authorities.
In addition, the JV will collaborate with the US Army Corps of Engineers’ Huntsville Center on electronic and physical security design to safeguard facilities from any chemical, biological and radiological threats.
CH2M USACE account manager Stephen Browning said: “We’re honoured to partner with the Huntsville Center as it returns to its historic ballistic missile defence mission, advancing all aspects of our national security, from design studies to services during construction.”
