By GlobalDataIn a statement, DSCA said: “This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the US by improving the security of an important regional partner that is an important force for political stability and economic progress in South America.”
Furthermore, this FMS will contribute to enhancing the capabilities of the Brazilian Army to meet future threats by increasing its antiarmor capacity.
Javelin is a shoulder-fired, anti-armour system capable of automatically guiding itself towards the target, once launched.
The weapon system allows the gunner to take cover while avoiding counterfire.
Recently, the US State Department approved a potential $300m FMS of Javelin lightweight command launch units to the UK.
