Babcock International Group has been awarded its first contract with NATO to provide training support services at the Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway.
This five-year agreement will see Babcock contribute to military exercises by supplying subject matter experts to perform various roles including acting as participants and crafting scenarios.
Additionally, the company will provide exercise control staff to aid in the design and execution of training for NATO’s multinational headquarters via computer-assisted command post exercises.
The JWC, a component of NATO’s training infrastructure for joint operational and strategic-level warfare, was established on 23 October 2003, and achieved full operational capability in 2006.
It plays a role in enhancing the warfighting readiness of NATO’s Command and Force Structure Headquarters and supports the missions of both Supreme Allied Commander Transformation and Supreme Allied Commander Europe.
Babcock Training managing director Jo Rayson said: “During a period of increased geopolitical instability, high quality training exercises are central to improving security. It is a privilege to be working side-by-side with the NATO Joint Warfare Centre in the development and delivery of their computer-assisted command post exercises. Their mission is our mission.”
