Located in the DC3S complex in Sterling Heights, Michigan, US, the new facility expands ARV’s capacity to nearly 28,000ft².
The Sterling Heights facility has two high bay areas and space to accommodate more than 30 new team members hired to support the OMFV programme.
The company has plans to house a hardware and software integration lab and a prototype build area in the two high bay areas of the facility.
ARV managing director Matt Warnick said: “The investments we are making in our operations are a strong reflection of American Rheinmetall Vehicle’s position in the marketplace and positive outlook for the future.
“I’m excited that our team and new facility are well-positioned to fully support the Lynx OMFV offering and look forward to continuing to change the landscape of the US defence industrial base by introducing next-generation manufacturing capabilities and creating new, quality US jobs.”
The OMFV development is aimed at replacing nearly 3,800 BAE-built Bradley infantry fighting vehicle (IFV).
