AM General has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Egyptian Ministry of Military Production (MoMP) to develop and manufacture tactical vehicles in the country.
The MoU is aimed at facilitating Egypt’s domestic military automobile industry development.
According to AM General, the long-term strategic partnership would create a phased approach to explore how it can partner with the MoMP on the development.
AM General president and CEO Andy Hove said: “Today’s signing ceremony further solidifies our long-standing relationship with the Government of Egypt.
“We look forward to applying our manufacturing and design expertise to help grow the Egyptian automotive industry.”
Following the MoU, MoMP and the company will study the feasibility of developing an ‘in-country assembly and manufacturing’ capability.
