AeroVironment has secured four firm-fixed-price orders for Puma 3 All Environment (AE) tactical unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) from the Nato Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA).
Valued at more than $11.5m, the contract also includes the provision of initial spares packages.
These orders were received by AeroVironment last October and December, with delivery expected by June.
The company said that the orders are part of a three-year base contract awarded by NSPA in January last year.
It includes an option for two additional years of logistics support for Raven, Wasp and Puma tactical UAS.
The cumulative face value of the multi-year contract is $80m and entails the procurement and sustainment of AeroVironment tactical UAS employed by the defence forces of several Nato-allied nations.

“Puma AE and other products within AeroVironment’s family of tactical UAS use a common ground control station and software, providing increased capability to the warfighter and greater interoperability among Nato forces.”
The Puma AE UAS can be deployed in land-based and maritime operations to conduct intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and target acquisition (ISRT), battle damage assessment, maritime patrol, search and rescue and drug interdiction missions.
The hand-launched Puma 3 AE has a wingspan of 9.2ft and weighs 15lb. It has an endurance of up to 2.5 hours.
Last month, AeroVironment won a contract to modify the US Army’s existing fleet of Raven tactical UAS’ radio frequencies (RF).
