
The US’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 1.6% rise in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.16% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.37% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.15% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 43.24% in August 2022, registering an 8.71% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 24.75% share, an increase of 13.91% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 19.15%, registering an 11.13% rise from July 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 5.68%, up 8.45% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 4.04% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Northrop Grumman posted 625 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 9.46% over the previous month, followed by General Dynamics with 514 jobs and an 8.44% growth. Raytheon Technologies with 471 IT jobs and The Boeing with 420 jobs, recorded a 10.11% decline and an 11.39% decrease, respectively, while L3Harris Technologies recorded a decline of 20% with 348 job postings during August 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 45.53%, up by 3.64% from July 2022. Junior Level positions with a 36.65% share, registered an increase of 18.99% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.45% share, up 19.93% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.37%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
