The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.08% in October 2021 when compared with September 2021.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 25.46% share in October 2021, recording an increase of 0.52% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry in October 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 51.44% in October 2021, registering a 15.61% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 20.6% share, a decrease of 31.9% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 15.37%, registering a 35.02% decline from September 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.97%, down 28.55% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in October 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 9.18% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2021 over September 2021.
Raytheon Technologies posted 1,698 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a drop of 21.68% over the previous month, followed by The Boeing with 1,321 jobs and a 37.21% drop. Lockheed Martin with 806 IT jobs and Leidos Holdings with 729 jobs, recorded an 114.93% flat growth and an 85.03% flat growth, respectively, while L3Harris Technologies recorded a decline of 3.35% with 404 job postings during October 2021.
Mid Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Mid Level jobs held a share of 41.59%, down by 30.45% from September 2021. Junior Level positions with a 38.94% share, registered a decline of 21.16% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 18.89% share, down 19.97% over September 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.58%, recording a month-on-month decline of 8.11%.
