
The UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered an 11.9% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 1.85% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.34% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 1.83% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in the UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry in July 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 35.6% in July 2022, registering a 12.66% growth over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 33.6% share, an increase of 3.7% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 18%, registering a 104.55% rise from June 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.8%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in the UK’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 55.17% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the UK’s aerospace, defence & security industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
Huntington Ingalls Industries posted 101 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a rise of 46.38% over the previous month, followed by James Fisher and Sons with 26 jobs and a 3.7% drop. Rolls-Royce with 18 IT jobs and The Boeing with 18 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and a 125% growth, respectively, while Thales recorded an increase of 183.33% with 17 job postings during July 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 53.6%, up by 24.07% from June 2022. Junior Level positions with a 42.8% share, registered an increase of 16.3% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 3.6% share, flat growth over June 2022.
