Singapore’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 3.4% drop in IT hiring activity in December 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.26% in December 2021 when compared with November 2021.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 19.06% share in December 2021, recording an increase of 4.4% over the last three-month average share.

 

Top five job classifications in Singapore’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s aerospace, defence & security industry in December 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 84.21% in December 2021, registering a 5.88% decline over the previous month.

2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 5.26% share, a decrease of 93.33% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 5.26%, registering a 66.67% decline from November 2021.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.26%, flat growth over the previous month.

 

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Singapore’s IT recruitment activity in December 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Singapore’s aerospace, defence & security industry during December 2021 over November 2021.

Thales posted 13 IT jobs in December 2021 and registered a drop of 18.75% over the previous month, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 5 jobs and a 37.5% drop. The Boeing with 1 IT jobs, recorded a 92.86% decline.

Junior Level job postings dominate in December 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.42%, down by 23.53% from November 2021. Entry Level positions with a 26.32% share, registered a flat growth compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 5.26% share, down 95% over November 2021.
