August 2022 has seen an increase of 0.84% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 19.19% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.27% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 43.43% in August 2022, an 8.03% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 24.57% in August 2022, marking a 14.48% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 19.11% in August 2022, an 11% rise from July 2022.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 5.61% in August 2022, a 6.94% rise over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 3.86% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry during August 2022 over previous month.
Northrop Grumman posted 625 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 9.46% over the previous month, followed by General Dynamics with 514 jobs and an 8.44% growth. Raytheon Technologies with 476 IT jobs and The Boeing with 427 jobs, recorded a 10.19% drop and a 10.29% drop, respectively, while L3Harris Technologies recorded a 20% decline with 348 job postings during August 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 98.76% share in August 2022, an 11.54% increase over July 2022. Canada featured next with a 0.9% share, down 15.91% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.34% share, a growth of 7.69% compared with July 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 45.3%, up by 3.67% from July 2022. Junior Level positions with a 36.93% share, registered a growth of 18.37% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.38% share, up 18.54% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.39%, recording a month-on-month growth of 6.67%.
