Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 44.47% in November 2022, a 3.44% drop over the previous month. Computer and Information Research Scientists came in next, claiming a share of 24.49% in November 2022, marking a 16.4% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 17.92% in November 2022, an 8.37% drop from October 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 10.18% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry during November 2022 over previous month.
Northrop Grumman posted 519 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a decline of 17.09% over the previous month, followed by Lockheed Martin with 504 jobs and a 2.65% growth. General Dynamics with 463 IT jobs and Leidos Holdings with 450 jobs, recorded a 31.91% rise and a 169.46% rise, respectively, while Raytheon Technologies recorded a 16.9% decline with 413 job postings during November 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 98.34% share in November 2022, a 7.86% decrease over October 2022. Canada featured next with a 1.48% share, down 5.08% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 0.18% share, a flat growth compared with October 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in November 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 45.82%, down by 4.09% from October 2022. Junior Level positions with a 38.66% share, registered a decline of 12.28% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 14.81% share, down 4.59% over October 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.71%, recording a month-on-month decline of 35.71%.
