India’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered an 8.3% drop in IT hiring activity in March 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.4% in March 2022 when compared with February 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 52.68% share in March 2022, recording a decrease of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.82% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry in March 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 82.75% in March 2022, registering a 27.24% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 7.65% share, an increase of 21.88% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 3.14%, registering a 40.74% decline from February 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 2.94%, down 25% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in March 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 20.95% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry during March 2022 over February 2022.

The Boeing posted 405 IT jobs in March 2022 and registered a drop of 22.86% over the previous month, followed by Airbus with 22 jobs and a 31.25% drop. Groupe Industriel Marcel Dassault with 16 IT jobs and Trimble Military and Advanced Systems with 11 jobs, recorded an 11.11% decline and an 8.33% decrease, respectively, while Elettronica recorded a flat growth with 10 job postings during March 2022.

Mid Level job postings dominate in March 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 61.57%, down by 30.07% from February 2022. Junior Level positions with a 33.33% share, registered a decline of 14.14% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.1% share, down 13.33% over February 2022.
