India’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 14.0% drop in IT hiring activity in November 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 16.97% in November 2022 when compared with October 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 27.91% share in November 2022, recording an increase of 0.48% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in India’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.88% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry in November 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.49% in November 2022, registering a 27.27% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 20.11% share, a decrease of 30.91% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 6.88%, registering a 44.44% rise from October 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 3.7%, up 40% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in November 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 24.23% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s aerospace, defence & security industry during November 2022 over October 2022.

Boeing posted 93 IT jobs in November 2022 and registered a drop of 19.83% over the previous month, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 33 jobs and a 13.16% drop. Elettronica with 30 IT jobs and Thales with 9 jobs, recorded a 40% decline and a 50% growth, respectively, while Cubic recorded a decline of 58.82% with 7 job postings during November 2022.

Mid Level job postings dominate in November 2022

Mid Level jobs held a share of 55.56%, down by 13.22% from October 2022. Junior Level positions with a 42.33% share, registered a decline of 36% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.12% share, up 33.33% over October 2022.
