Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 12.2% rise in IT hiring activity in October 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring increased by 15.81% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 7.62% share in October 2022, recording a decrease of 1.69% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.6% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry in October 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 53.4% in October 2022, registering a 10.57% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.93% share, a decrease of 9.3% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 12.14%, registering a 4.17% rise from September 2022.

4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 6.8%, down 17.65% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 9.69% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2022 over September 2022.

Rheinmetall posted 68 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a drop of 43.33% over the previous month, followed by Airbus with 51 jobs and an 112.5% growth. ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH with 36 IT jobs and MTU Aero Engines with 14 jobs, recorded a 7.69% decline and a 75% growth, respectively, while Huntington Ingalls Industries recorded an increase of 60% with 8 job postings during October 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.56%, down by 19.39% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 25.24% share, registered an increase of 20.93% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 9.22% share, down 17.39% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.97%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
