Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered an 8.9% drop in IT hiring activity in July 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 14.62% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 10.38% share in July 2022, recording an increase of 1.27% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry in July 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 58.93% in July 2022, registering a 38.89% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.07% share, a decrease of 47.06% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 12.5%, registering a 30% decline from June 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 5.36%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 40.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry during July 2022 over June 2022.

Airbus posted 23 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 28.13% over the previous month, followed by Rheinmetall with 21 jobs and a 75.29% drop. MTU Aero Engines with 17 IT jobs and Wingcopter with 11 jobs, recorded a 13.33% growth and a flat growth, respectively, while Thales recorded an increase of 57.14% with 11 job postings during July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.11%, down by 45.39% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 13.39% share, registered a decline of 67.39% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.5% share, up 75% over June 2022.
