Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 15.7% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 22.21% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 9.67% share in June 2022, recording an increase of 0.24% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 94.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry in June 2022.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 52.26% in June 2022, registering a 52.94% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 16.08% share, an increase of 28% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 10.55%, registering a 22.22% decline from May 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 10.05%, down 39.39% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Germany’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 34.41% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Germany’s aerospace, defence & security industry during June 2022 over May 2022.

Rheinmetall posted 85 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 46.88% over the previous month, followed by ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH with 48 jobs and a flat growth. Airbus with 30 IT jobs and MTU Aero Engines with 13 jobs, recorded an 11.11% growth and an 84.52% decrease, respectively, while Thales recorded a decline of 12.5% with 7 job postings during June 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.37%, down by 36.24% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.61% share, registered a decline of 25% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.02% share, down 72.41% over May 2022.
