France’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 5.3% drop in IT hiring activity in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 2.33% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.93% share in May 2022, recording a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 97.44% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s aerospace, defence & security industry in May 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 46.15% in May 2022, registering a 12.5% growth over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 28.21% share, a decrease of 66.67% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 12.82%, registering a 37.5% decline from April 2022.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 5.13%, down 50% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in May 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 39.68% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s aerospace, defence & security industry during May 2022 over April 2022.

Airbus posted 19 IT jobs in May 2022 and registered a drop of 40.63% over the previous month, followed by Thales with 8 jobs and a 33.33% drop. Naval Group with 4 IT jobs and Leidos Holdings with 4 jobs, recorded a 69.23% decline and a 33.33% growth, respectively, while European Space Agency recorded a flat growth with 3 job postings during May 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.36%, down by 48.21% from April 2022. Mid Level positions with a 12.82% share, registered a decline of 50% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.26% share, up 300% over April 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.56%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
