France’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 20.5% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 20.09% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 6.8% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.46% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in France’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s aerospace, defence & security industry in August 2022.

1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 55.41% in August 2022, registering a 48.75% decline over the previous month.

2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 33.78% share, a decrease of 44.44% over the previous month.

3) Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 4.05%, registering a 62.5% decline from July 2022.

4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 4.05%, down 78.57% over the previous month.

Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in France’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 55.13% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of France’s aerospace, defence & security industry during August 2022 over July 2022.

European Space Agency posted 25 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 58.33% over the previous month, followed by Airbus with 19 jobs and a 62.75% drop. Thales with 13 IT jobs and ECA Group with 8 jobs, recorded a 58.06% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Naval Group recorded a decline of 64.29% with 5 job postings during August 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 68.92%, down by 52.34% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 28.38% share, registered a decline of 55.32% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 2.7% share, down 66.67% over July 2022.
