June 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.25% in the overall hiring activity when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.77% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in June 2022, registering a decrease of 0.67% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in June 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 47.45% in June 2022, a 43.63% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 27.27% in June 2022, marking a 20.97% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 8.91% in June 2022, a 41.67% drop from May 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 8.66% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry during June 2022 over previous month.
Airbus posted 96 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a decline of 12.73% over the previous month, followed by Rheinmetall with 85 jobs and a 46.88% drop. Thales with 69 IT jobs and ESG Elektroniksystem- und Logistik-GmbH with 48 jobs, recorded a 20.69% drop and a flat growth, respectively, while Huntington Ingalls Industries recorded a 2800% increase with 29 job postings during June 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry
Germany commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 36.18% share in June 2022, a 37.42% decrease over May 2022. The UK featured next with a 24.73% share, down 37.9% over the previous month. France recorded a 20.73% share, a drop of 31.74% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.82%, down by 33.45% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 23.45% share, registered a decline of 26.29% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.73% share, down 52.56% over May 2022.
