The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 10.82% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 12.25% share in August 2022, recording an increase of 0.15% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry in August 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 67.57% in August 2022, registering a 24.24% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 13.51% share, an increase of 66.67% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.81%, registering a 33.33% rise from July 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 5.41%, down 50% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 8.57% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
CAE posted 11 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a drop of 38.89% over the previous month, followed by The Boeing with 7 jobs and a 250% growth. Axon Enterprise with 6 IT jobs and Thales with 4 jobs, recorded a 20% growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Teledyne Technologies recorded an increase of 100% with 4 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.05%, down by 4.76% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 37.84% share, registered an increase of 7.69% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.41% share, down 80% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.7%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
