The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 11.15% in January 2022 when compared with December 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 18.86% share in January 2022, recording a decrease of 0.7% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 96.97% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry in January 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.64% in January 2022, registering a 47.5% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 13.64% share, a decrease of 10% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.61%, registering a 16.67% rise from December 2022.
4) Database and Network Administrators and Architects captured a share of 6.06%, down 42.86% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 29.21% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry during January 2022 over December 2022.
CAE posted 18 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a drop of 10% over the previous month, followed by Teledyne Technologies with 14 jobs and a 22.22% drop. The Boeing with 13 IT jobs and Thales with 9 jobs, recorded an 18.75% decline and a 47.06% decrease, respectively, while L3Harris Technologies recorded a decline of 50% with 9 job postings during January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.55%, down by 34.55% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 34.85% share, registered a decline of 42.5% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.61% share, down 46.15% over December 2022.
