The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.12% in July 2022 when compared with June 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.61% share in July 2022, recording a decrease of 1% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry in July 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 74.42% in July 2022, registering a 5.88% decline over the previous month.
2) Computer Support Specialists claimed a 9.3% share, a decrease of 20% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.98%, registering a 57.14% decline from June 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 6.98%, down 40% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 15.91% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s aerospace, defence & security industry during July 2022 over June 2022.
CAE posted 17 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a drop of 22.73% over the previous month, followed by Thales with 8 jobs and a 14.29% growth. Axon Enterprise with 5 IT jobs and Raytheon Technologies with 5 jobs, recorded a 66.67% growth and a 50% decrease, respectively, while Teledyne Technologies recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during July 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 46.51%, up by 11.11% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 30.23% share, registered a decline of 40.91% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 23.26% share, down 41.18% over June 2022.
