
Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered an 8.0% drop in IT hiring activity in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 5% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 17.1% share in June 2022, recording a decrease of 1.57% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry in June 2022.
1) Computer and Information Research Scientists recorded a share of 35.19% in June 2022, registering a 44.12% decline over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 29.63% share, a decrease of 51.52% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 29.63%, registering a 6.67% rise from May 2022.
4) Computer Support Specialists captured a share of 3.7%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in June 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 40.26% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry during June 2022 over May 2022.
The Boeing posted 24 IT jobs in June 2022 and registered a drop of 38.46% over the previous month, followed by Thales with 11 jobs and a flat growth. Cubic with 6 IT jobs and Raytheon Technologies with 3 jobs, recorded a 200% growth and an 88% decrease, respectively, while Leidos Holdings recorded a flat growth with 2 job postings during June 2022.
Mid Level job postings dominate in June 2022
Mid Level jobs held a share of 50%, up by 3.85% from May 2022. Junior Level positions with a 42.59% share, registered a decline of 54.9% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 7.41% share, down 66.67% over May 2022.
