The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 7.33% in October 2022 when compared with September 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 16.2% share in October 2022, recording an increase of 0.1% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 98.63% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry in October 2022.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 39.73% in October 2022, registering a 3.57% growth over the previous month.
2) Computer and Information Research Scientists claimed a 24.66% share, an increase of 350% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 23.29%, registering a 21.43% rise from September 2022.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.22%, up 50% over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 81.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2022 over September 2022.
Boeing posted 35 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a rise of 40% over the previous month, followed by QinetiQ Group with 23 jobs and a flat growth. Thales with 9 IT jobs and M.C. Dean with 1 jobs, recorded a 30.77% decline and a flat growth, respectively, while Navantia Australia recorded a flat growth with 1 job postings during October 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.01%, up by 91.67% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 31.51% share, registered a decline of 4.17% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 5.48% share, flat growth over September 2022.
