
Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry registered a 0.5% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 5.7% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the aerospace, defence & security industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 16.27% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.75% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry in August 2022.
1) Database and Network Administrators and Architects recorded a share of 39.19% in August 2022, registering a 93.33% growth over the previous month.
2) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers claimed a 33.78% share, a decrease of 13.79% over the previous month.
3) Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 21.62%, registering a 30.43% decline from July 2022.
4) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations captured a share of 2.7%, flat growth over the previous month.
Top five aerospace, defence & security companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average flat growth share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s aerospace, defence & security industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
The Boeing posted 40 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 2.56% over the previous month, followed by Thales with 8 jobs and a 57.89% drop. Raytheon Technologies with 7 IT jobs and Cubic with 5 jobs, recorded a 250% growth and a 66.67% growth, respectively, while ASC recorded an increase of 150% with 5 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.35%, up by 15.15% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 36.49% share, registered a decline of 15.63% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 12.16% share, up 28.57% over July 2022.
