October 2021 has seen a decrease of 3.39% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 30.62% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2021, registering an increase of 0.32% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 69.08% in October 2021, a 29.32% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.21% in October 2021, marking a 12.2% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 9.08% in October 2021, a 52.24% drop from September 2021.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 29.64% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2021 over previous month.
The Boeing posted 455 IT jobs in October 2021 and registered a decline of 35.37% over the previous month, followed by Raytheon Technologies with 71 jobs and a 39.83% drop. Thales with 66 IT jobs and Leidos Holdings with 58 jobs, recorded a 4.76% rise and a 56.76% rise, respectively, while Cubic recorded a 37.5% decline with 10 job postings during October 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s aerospace, defence & security industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 59.01% share in October 2021, a 32.79% decrease over September 2021. Australia featured next with a 31.49% share, down 23.97% over the previous month. Singapore recorded a 3.26% share, a drop of 25.81% compared with September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 45.25%, down by 12.36% from September 2021. Mid Level positions with a 44.4% share, registered a decline of 36.38% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.35% share, down 41.13% over September 2021.
